Color Uses

My amazing, great followers, welcoooommme backk. In this post we will be discussing the color uses in Chasing Perfection. If you have seen the previous post you can see the purple lighting in every shot, except from the first shot which is red.

Firstly, the use of red was intentional in creating an alarming and bold effect, especially after the alarm goes off in the film. I actually filmed this scene by holding an apple watch in my mouth while recording, which was a bit challenging but ended up creating the desired effect.

In contrast, the purple in the film represents the protagonist's instability and moodiness. It creates a sense of unease and tension that follows her throughout the film.

The black sweater that she wears is meant to symbolize the weight she carries inside. It is oversized, representing how she feels heavy and burdened. The jeans that she wears are ordinary teenage blue jeans, symbolizing her attempt to fit in and be "normal" despite her struggles.
