Editing Post
Welcomme back everyone!!! Today we will be talking about the editing process from Chasing Perfection. I just want to preface this by saying i am also learning how to use Premiere Pro, so im probably doing everything the hard way.
The first problem i encounter was the sound. I wasn't sure if i should delete each track sound or keep them and let them be messy. I deleting them so it was easier to keep track of everything. I spent sooo much time trying to get everything absolutely perfect and doing everything the long way. I should of just watched some tutorial videos, but noooo. I wanted to be self taught which looking back is so dumb cause i spent HOURS of my life that i cant get back. I asked my teacher (that teaches this program to other kid) some questions about the program and she was very helpful. For some of my shots that i want to add credits too are pretty shaky, and i found out there was a way to stabilize them :000 This blew my mind and i went in a rabbit hole of looking at all the effects i could add.
Another thing i realized i was doing the hard way, was when i delated clips i would have to move everything individually back so there wasnt a gap. But all you had to do was select everything and move it. Mind blown. About half way through i found out what markers were. I would always get so frustrated with losing my spot in the time and having to memorize it but the markers were a game changer. Things as simple as using the space bar to pause and unpause made my life so much more simple as i learned more and more.
I edited the whole first scene first, and when we finished the second scene i did it after. There is a invisible cut in between those two and i spent to much time before hand practicing, so it came out good when we recorded it. And what do you know, when we started to record i couldn't get it right. i was standing in the bathroom, with my laptop editing the transition to see if it came out good right then and there. The second time around, i did it in like 1/3 the time.
I also accidentally delated to whole video, because i restarted my laptop without saving for like 9 days. I literally almost cried at school that day. Then i told my teacher (the one that gives me help), and she told me that it automatically saves. And after searching, i couldn't find it and thought that since i didnt pay for more icloud storage all hope was lost. But after my teacher searched for like 30 minutes, WE FOUND THE BACKUPP!!! and that teaches Rebecca the lesson of saving her work!
